Jonathan Peldman

Chief Executive Officer & General Counsel

Before founding Gotham in 2016, Jonathan Peldman spent ten years practicing real estate law, including through his own firm a foundation that gave him direct command of the legal, ownership, financing, and title issues that shape sophisticated real estate transactions. As CEO and General Counsel, he leads Gotham’s commercial transaction team, working closely with clients, counsel, lenders, developers, and national underwriting partners on complex transactions and underwriting matters.

Ellen Marie Petrillo

Chief Underwriting Counsel

Ellen Marie Petrillo has practiced real estate law for 27 years, beginning her career representing buyers, sellers, and lenders before moving into title insurance underwriting in 2004. She joined Gotham in 2017 after working with several leading national title agencies. She works closely with clients and transaction professionals to identify issues, evaluate risk, and develop practical strategies that protect client interests and keep closings on track. Ellen has also served for 25 years in the New York Army National Guard Judge Advocate General’s Corps, where she currently holds the rank of Major.

Adam Peldman

Director of Business Development

Over more than 25 years in real estate finance, lending, title insurance, and business development, Adam Peldman built his early career on the deal side of the table before moving into title. At Gotham, he has originated more than $8 billion in commercial title insurance transactions nationwide. Adam works closely with clients, attorneys, lenders, developers, and underwriting partners to connect transaction objectives with effective title and underwriting solutions.

Behind senior leadership is a team of title examiners, underwriters, and closing professionals who handle each file end to end Clearing title, coordinating with counsel and lenders, and verifying every payoff and disbursement before closing. From initial title search through final recording, every file passes through multiple layers of review including examination, underwriting, closing, and post-closing, creating multiple layers of protection for client interests. Gotham is aggressive about getting deals to the closing table, and conservative in how it protects its clients along the way. Gotham’s team catches issues before they reach the closing table.
